President Murmu and PM Modi Extend Warm Diwali Greetings, Wish Nation Happiness and Prosperity.
President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday conveyed their heartfelt Diwali greetings to the nation, wishing citizens across India and abroad happiness, harmony, and prosperity. Diwali, the festival of lights, celebrates the victory of good over evil, light over darkness, and knowledge over ignorance. Across India, people observe the festival by lighting diyas and candles, performing prayers, and enjoying festivities with family and friends.
In her message, President Murmu said, “On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all Indians, both in India and abroad. This festival, celebrated with immense fervour, conveys the message of mutual affection and brotherhood.”
The President highlighted that Diwali is also “an occasion for self-reflection and self-improvement” and “an opportunity to help and support the deprived and the needy, bringing joy into their lives.” She urged everyone to celebrate the festival safely, responsibly, and in an environmentally friendly way, adding, “May this Diwali bring happiness, peace, and prosperity to all.”
PM Modi took to social media to extend his greetings, writing, “Greetings on the occasion of Diwali. May this festival of lights illuminate our lives with harmony, happiness, and prosperity. May the spirit of positivity prevail all around us.”
The Prime Minister also encouraged citizens to support local artisans by purchasing domestically made “Swadeshi” products. “Let’s celebrate this festive season by honouring the hard work, creativity, and innovation of 140 crore Indians. Buy Indian products and say—Garv Se Kaho Yeh Swadeshi Hai! Share what you bought on social media to inspire others,” he said.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah wished citizens, posting, “Heartfelt Diwali greetings to all on this festival of lights and joy. I pray to Lord Shri Ram for the health and prosperity of all.”
Union Health Minister JP Nadda added, “I extend my heartfelt wishes of Alok Purb Diwali to all fellow countrymen. On this sacred occasion of Deepotsav, may the darkness of ignorance be dispelled by the light of knowledge, and may everyone’s life be filled with happiness, progress, and auspiciousness. I pray to Mother Mahalakshmi Ji to bless all with happiness, prosperity, and good health. Happy Diwali!”
