Putin Cites PM Modi’s ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ to Highlight India-Russia Ties.

During a state banquet at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Friday, Russian President Vladimir Putin invoked Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s motto, “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,” saying it reflects the spirit of India-Russia relations. Addressing dignitaries, Putin remarked, “These words truly reflect the nature and character of the Russian-Indian relations. We will do everything to ensure our strategic partnership grows and benefits all our people.”

Recalling the 15-year-old declaration that elevated bilateral ties to a “specially privileged strategic partnership,” Putin said the cooperation spans politics, security, trade, energy, education, and more. He called the recent talks with Indian leaders “genuinely open and constructive,” emphasizing the declaration would further strengthen relations.

The banquet, hosted by President Droupadi Murmu, followed the ceremonial welcome marking one of the key events of Putin’s two-day visit to India.

During the visit, Putin and PM Modi discussed energy cooperation, with Russia pledging uninterrupted shipments of oil, gas, and coal. Modi appreciated Russia’s “unwavering commitment” and underscored that energy security remains a cornerstone of bilateral ties. The leaders also addressed the Ukraine conflict, with Putin briefing Modi on ongoing diplomatic efforts, while India reaffirmed its commitment to peaceful dialogue.
