Radha, Yastika return as India name squads for Women’s T20 World Cup, England tour

India have brought back Radha Yadav and Yastika Bhatia while naming a strong squad for the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup and the tour of England. The squads were finalised at a selection meeting attended by captain Harmanpreet Kaur, head coach Amol Muzumdar, chief selector Amita Sharma and BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia.

Yastika returns after recovering from a serious knee injury that ruled her out of last year’s ODI World Cup and the 2026 WPL. Radha, meanwhile, is back in the T20I setup after nearly a year, having last featured during the England tour in July 2025. She had earlier led India A to the Emerging Asia Cup title.

Nandini earns maiden call-up

Fast bowler Nandini Sharma has been handed her maiden India call-up after injuries to Kashvee Gautam and Amanjot Kaur. The 24-year-old impressed in the WPL, picking up 17 wickets in 10 matches, including a hat-trick for Delhi Capitals.

Bharti Fulmali retains her place after a solid comeback series against South Africa, while Anushka Sharma has also been rewarded for her performances as a stand-in opener.

Injuries and exclusions

Kashvee Gautam misses out due to a knee injury, while Amanjot Kaur is expected to remain sidelined for several months. Youngsters G Kamalini and Vaishnavi Sharma, despite recent promise, have not been included.

India’s spin unit remains a major strength, led by Deepti Sharma, Radha Yadav, Shree Charani and Shreyanka Patil.

Test call-ups and schedule

Nandini Sharma and Bharti Fulmali have also earned maiden Test call-ups for the one-off match at Lord’s, where Harleen Deol has been included as well.

India begin their England T20I series on May 28, before playing the one-off Test from July 10. The Women’s T20 World Cup starts on June 12, with India opening their campaign against Pakistan on June 14 in Birmingham.
