Rahul Dev Reveals Real Reason Behind Brother Mukul Dev’s Death, Rejects Depression Claims.
Actor Rahul Dev has addressed speculation surrounding the sudden death of his brother, Mukul Dev, stating that it was not due to depression, as widely reported, but rather a result of deteriorating health caused by poor eating habits.
In a recent interview with The Times of India, Rahul revealed that Mukul was in the ICU for over eight days before passing away. “Medically, it was a result of poor eating habits. In his final days, he had stopped eating altogether,” Rahul said. He added that while Mukul felt isolated and had withdrawn from work and social circles, he was not clinically depressed as many have claimed.
Mukul had moved to Delhi in 2019 to care for their ailing father and became increasingly reclusive after their mother’s death in 2023. Rahul shared that Mukul had immersed himself in writing and struggled with loneliness, especially missing his daughter.
Responding to rumors about depression and fitness, Rahul said, “Those making claims now weren’t even in touch with him. They didn’t visit him in the hospital or attend his prayer meet. He ran half-marathons — he wasn’t unfit.”
Rahul hopes people remember Mukul for who he truly was: “a super charming, intelligent, and sensitive soul,” not just for his tragic end.
