UP Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya Accuses Rahul Gandhi of Siding with Pakistan Over Operation Sindoor.
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Sunday launched a sharp attack on Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, accusing him and his family of showing more sympathy toward Pakistan than India in the wake of Operation Sindoor.
In a post on social media platform X, the BJP leader alleged that the Congress party was repeatedly “insulting” the Indian Army in a bid to “appease” Pakistan.
“Lightweight Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi seems less concerned about India and more about Pakistan. It appears the Gandhi family is more pained by the impact of Operation Sindoor than Pakistan itself,” Maurya wrote.
He further claimed that the Congress party, reeling from its continued absence from power, has “lost its mental balance” and is now relying on “confused global figures” who are “inconsistent in their statements.” This was an apparent reference to Rahul Gandhi’s past remarks seeking clarification from Prime Minister Narendra Modi over claims made by former U.S. President Donald Trump on India-Pakistan tensions.
“The truth is that Prime Minister Modi’s strong and decisive leadership has rattled Pakistan—and even disrupted the peace of mind of those global leaders who once considered themselves untouchable,” Maurya added.
Maurya’s remarks come amid the political and public debate surrounding Operation Sindoor, a reported counter-terror initiative carried out by Indian forces. While the operation has been hailed by BJP leaders as a major success, Congress has demanded transparency and accountability on its details.
