Jhansi Court Issues Non-Bailable Warrant Against Rakhi Sawant in 2010 Suicide Case

A court in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, has issued a non-bailable warrant against actress Rakhi Sawant in connection with a 2010 suicide case linked to alleged remarks she made on the television reality show Rakhi Ka Insaaf. The warrant was issued after she repeatedly failed to appear for court proceedings, government counsel Mridul Kant Srivastava said.

Civil Judge (Junior Division) Anjali issued the warrant on Friday. The court has scheduled the next hearing for December 1.

What Is the 2010 Suicide Case Involving Rakhi Sawant?

The case concerns Laxman Ahirwar, a resident of the Hansari Prem Nagar area of Jhansi, who died by suicide on November 10, 2010.

According to PTI, Laxman’s mother, Savitri, filed a complaint at the Prem Nagar police station following an episode of Rakhi Ka Insaaf that aired in October 2010. She alleged that Sawant had used insulting and objectionable language against her son during the programme.

The prosecution said Laxman and his wife, Anita, who was from Rajgarh, had been invited to appear on the show because of marital disputes. Anita had reportedly returned to her parental home following disagreements between the couple.

The matter subsequently entered the legal process. Sawant’s repeated failure to attend court hearings has now prompted the issuance of a non-bailable warrant.

District Government Counsel (Crime) Mridul Kant Srivastava confirmed the development, adding that the case would be taken up again on December 1.

Rakhi Sawant’s Recent Remarks on Govinda and Sunita Ahuja

Apart from the legal case, Sawant has recently attracted attention for her comments about actor Govinda and his wife, Sunita Ahuja, amid speculation surrounding the actor’s relationship with his co-star Komal Rani Swarnkar.

Speaking to paparazzi earlier this month, Sawant criticised Govinda over the rumours.

“Govinda ji, pura desh naaraz hai aapse,” she said, questioning the reported developments involving the actor and his family.

She also defended Sunita, referring to her long marriage to Govinda and their two children. Sawant further alleged that Komal had made disparaging remarks about her and other celebrities.

“She is badmouthing me and talking trash about other celebrities, too,” Sawant said, adding a warning to Komal. She also referred to her as a “pati chor”.

Govinda’s Manager Rejects Second Marriage Rumours

The controversy intensified after Sunita reportedly told Sawant during a phone conversation that Govinda and Komal were planning to marry. Sunita allegedly said this was the reason she had approached the court to withdraw her divorce petition.

However, Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, subsequently denied the reports of a second marriage, describing the claims as completely untrue.

The latest court action against Sawant is separate from the controversy involving Govinda and Sunita. It relates specifically to the 2010 case associated with Rakhi Ka Insaaf, in which the Jhansi court issued a non-bailable warrant following her repeated absence from proceedings.
