Nearly 30 years after their cult classic Satya, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma and actor Manoj Bajpayee have reunited for a new horror comedy titled Police Station Mein Bhoot. The film also features Genelia Deshmukh in a key role.
“Working with Manoj again after Satya is both nostalgic and thrilling,” said Varma. “Fear is at its scariest when it confronts authority, and a police station is the ultimate symbol of power. With Manoj’s intensity and Genelia’s vulnerability, this story will redefine how we look at horror through authority.”
The first schedule of the film has been completed, with Varma promising a mix of fear, irony, and his signature storytelling.
Their earlier collaboration, Satya (1998), became a landmark in Indian cinema, earning critical acclaim and a National Award for its gritty portrayal of the underworld. Bajpayee’s role as Bhiku Mhatre remains one of his most celebrated performances.
