Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar opened to a strong response on Friday, impressing both critics and audiences. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film earned a robust Rs 27 crore in India on its first day, surpassing industry expectations of Rs 20 crore.

High Occupancy Across Shows

According to Sacnilk, the film captured 33.81% of the Hindi market on Friday. Morning show occupancy was 15.49%, while night shows surged to nearly 60%, reflecting growing word-of-mouth and audience interest.

Ranveer Singh’s Solo Comeback

Dhurandhar marks Ranveer’s return to a solo-led commercial film, following his blockbuster hits:

Plot and Production

Dhurandhar follows Intelligence Bureau Chief Ajay Sanyal (R. Madhavan), who leads a high-stakes mission to dismantle a terror network in Pakistan. Ranveer Singh plays a 20-year-old Punjabi recruit from prison, trained to infiltrate Karachi’s criminal underworld.

Shot across Thailand, Mumbai, Punjab, and Ladakh between July 2024 and October 2025, the film runs 214 minutes, making it one of the longest theatrical releases in India.

Looking Ahead: Dhurandhar 2

The franchise is already gearing up for a sequel. Dhurandhar 2 is slated for March 19, 2026, and is set to clash with Yash’s upcoming action film Toxic, creating a high-stakes box office showdown.
