Red EcoSport Linked to Delhi Red Fort Blast Suspect Found in Faridabad
A red Ford EcoSport tied to Dr. Umar Un Nabi, a key suspect in the deadly Red Fort blast, was recovered on Wednesday in Khandawali village, Faridabad, following an extensive search operation.
The vehicle, registration DL 10 CK 0458, was parked outside a friend’s house about 12 km from Al-Falah University, where several suspects with alleged links to Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind have been arrested. Investigators found that Umar had purchased the car using a fake address. Forensic teams are currently examining the vehicle.
Authorities say the discovery of the EcoSport, alongside the Hyundai i20 used in the attack, points to a well-coordinated terror module with layered escape plans. The National Investigation Agency (NIA), with support from Delhi Police and units in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir, is leading the probe.
The blast, which occurred Monday near the historic Red Fort — the site of the Prime Minister’s annual Independence Day address — killed 12 people and injured several others. Dr. Umar, an Assistant Professor at Al-Falah Medical College, is believed to have been behind the wheel during the explosion, making him a central figure in the ongoing investigation.
