“She Put Me Through Trauma”: Orry on Amrita Singh and Cutting Ties With Sara Ali Khan

Social media personality Orhan Awatramani, widely known as Orry, has spoken about his fallout with actor Sara Ali Khan and her brother Ibrahim Ali Khan, saying a reconciliation is possible only if a long-standing personal issue is addressed.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Orry confirmed that he has cut ties with both siblings on social media. “I unfollowed Sara a while ago, and I haven’t followed Ibrahim in years,” he said, adding that he no longer wishes to maintain appearances.

Orry said the rift stems from what he described as a “traumatic” experience involving Sara’s mother, veteran actor Amrita Singh. “Pretending to be friends with Sara means pretending to be okay with the trauma her mother put me through, and I don’t think I can do that anymore,” he said.

While declining to go into details, Orry said an apology could open the door to reconciliation. “If Amrita Singh were to apologise, I could maybe see myself letting it go in the future,” he added.

Addressing claims that a viral comment of his was aimed at mocking Sara Ali Khan’s film career, Orry denied any intent to hurt. “I don’t really think I said anything wrong. It was a small joke taking a dig at her career. The internet makes fun of her movies all the time—it’s not that deep,” he said, noting that he himself is frequently trolled online.

Despite confirming the fallout, Orry insisted his remarks were not malicious. Efforts to reach Amrita Singh, Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan for comment did not receive a response at the time of publication.

Reports of tensions between Orry and Sara first emerged around August last year, after Orry posted birthday pictures of Sara that many online users described as unflattering. Industry chatter suggests that Ibrahim Ali Khan, once close to Orry, also distanced himself around the same period.

Since then, several of Orry’s social media posts have drawn attention. A reel asking followers to name the “worst names” featured the names Amrita, Sara and Palak, which some users interpreted as a reference to Amrita Singh, Sara Ali Khan and Palak Tiwari. Another post featuring a graphic T-shirt sparked further online debate, with sections of social media reading it as a veiled dig.

Sara Ali Khan has not directly addressed Orry’s statements. Fans, however, speculated that an Instagram story she shared—featuring lyrics about living freely and avoiding controversy—was an indirect response.

Adding to the speculation, a WhatsApp chat allegedly involving Orry and Palak Tiwari surfaced on Reddit last year. The authenticity of the exchange has not been verified, and neither party has commented on it.
