Rahul Gandhi Slams PM Modi Over Operation Sindoor, Dares Him to Refute Trump’s Truce Claim.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on the Modi government in Parliament during a debate on Operation Sindoor, accusing it of lacking the political will during the conflict with Pakistan and calling on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to publicly challenge former US President Donald Trump’s claim of brokering a ceasefire.

“Donald Trump said 29 times that he stopped the war,” Gandhi said, referring to the former US President’s remarks on mediating a truce between India and Pakistan. “If the Prime Minister has even 50% of Indira Gandhi’s courage, he should stand up in Parliament and say, ‘Donald Trump is lying. He never mediated any ceasefire.’”

Challenging Modi directly, Gandhi added, “If he has the courage, he should say in this House that Donald Trump is a liar. Why is the Prime Minister silent?”

“Ceasefire Sought Within 30 Minutes”: Gandhi Alleges
Escalating his criticism, Gandhi claimed that during Operation Sindoor, Pakistan demanded India’s surrender and the Indian government communicated a willingness to de-escalate within half an hour. He alleged that New Delhi told Islamabad it lacked the political will to pursue a larger conflict.

Citing inputs from Captain Shiv Kumar, India’s Defence Attaché in Indonesia, Gandhi questioned the operational restrictions imposed on the Indian Air Force. “We lost aircraft because our political leadership instructed the military not to target Pakistani air defence systems. Our pilots were sent in with their hands tied.”

He also dissected Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s earlier statements, pointing out apparent contradictions. “He said Operation Sindoor started at 1:05 am and lasted 22 minutes. But at 1:35 am, the DGMO called Pakistan to say we had hit non-military targets and did not want escalation. Why was that message sent so quickly?”

According to Gandhi, this timeline implied that the government had already decided to avoid any escalation, undermining the intent of the operation. “The DGMO was told to request a ceasefire right after the strike. That message was political, not military,” he asserted.

In a fiery close to his speech, Gandhi said, “We do not need a Prime Minister who lacks the guts to say that Donald Trump is lying. Don’t let Trump take credit for stopping a war he never stopped.”
