Massive Blast at Telangana Chemical Factory Leaves Six Feared Dead, Over 20 Injured.

At least six workers are feared dead and over 20 others injured following a powerful explosion at a chemical factory in Telangana’s Sangareddy district on Monday morning. The incident occurred around 9 a.m. at Sigachi Industries, located in the Pashamailaram industrial area near Hyderabad.

According to initial reports, the explosion originated in a chemical reactor and triggered a massive fire that rapidly engulfed the manufacturing unit. The intensity of the blast caused the structure to partially collapse, with flames spreading to adjoining sections of the facility.

Eyewitnesses described a terrifying scene, stating that the force of the blast hurled workers several meters into the air. Some of the injured are reported to be in critical condition and were rushed to nearby government and private hospitals.

Emergency services, including police, fire departments, and disaster response teams, launched a large-scale rescue operation. Eleven fire tenders were deployed to control the blaze, while ambulances ferried the injured to medical facilities. Earthmovers are also being used to clear debris amid fears that more workers may be trapped underneath the collapsed structure.

Many of the workers at the plant were migrant laborers from Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, and other states. Panic spread through the factory and nearby industrial units as the fire intensified, prompting hundreds of employees to flee the area.

Sangareddy District Collector P. Pravinya and Superintendent of Police Paritosh Pankaj visited the site and are supervising ongoing rescue and relief efforts. Staff from neighboring industrial units have also joined in to support the operations.

While one injured worker reportedly succumbed at the hospital, officials have not yet confirmed the total number of casualties. Rescue efforts are still underway, and further updates are awaited.
