Sobhita Dhulipala, who married Naga Chaitanya in Hyderabad last year, has opened up about completing one year of marriage, describing the experience as emotional, grounding and deeply fulfilling.
The Made in Heaven star said love, for her, is rooted in the understanding that one is already whole — and a partner simply helps reveal parts of oneself that already exist.
Reflecting on the thought shared in the anniversary video she posted online, Sobhita said, “I don’t know if I believe someone comes in to fill a void. I think we are complete on our own. And yet, in his absence, I would not be full.”
She explained that her words came from an emotional place. “It’s similar to Carl Jung’s idea that we don’t need someone to complete us. Some people discover that early, others much later. But in that journey, there is a longing for someone who complements us — a yin to our yang. They don’t complete you, but through them, you understand different facets of your own personality. That’s where a lot of love is born.”
Married life, she admitted, hasn’t been as relaxed as she imagined. “I thought I’d chill and explore Hyderabad, but I’ve been shooting back-to-back. I’ve already clocked more than 160 shoot days, mostly in Tamil Nadu. It’s been exciting.”
On finding time for each other despite hectic schedules, she said, “If you like something, you’ll make it happen. It’ll feel easy. If you don’t, even the simplest thing feels tough.” Summing up her first year of marriage with Naga Chaitanya, Sobhita said, “It’s been blissful, great. I feel very inspired creatively and greatly empowered.”
Naga Chaitanya was earlier married to actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who recently tied the knot with filmmaker Raj Nidimoru.
