Sonam Kapoor turns heads in velvet blue ensemble at Mumbai soirée

New mum-to-be Sonam Kapoor showcased her baby bump at a recent Mumbai event, embracing the city’s winter vibes in a luxe velvet maxi dress.

The actor, who announced her second pregnancy in November last year, is expecting her second child with husband Anand Ahuja, joining their son Vayu Kapoor Ahuja. Their due date is set for spring 2026.

Sonam Kapoor was at the event to be named Lancôme’s newest Indian brand ambassador for luxury makeup, skincare, and fragrance. She was seen gently caressing her growing bump in a floor-grazing velvet gown that hugged her figure elegantly.

The navy blue dress, part of Alaïa’s latest collection, comes with a price tag of $7,450 (approx. Rs 6.83 lakh). The curved jersey gown featured a deep scooped neckline giving an off-the-shoulder effect, a low back, and cinched waist — highlighting her baby bump while adding regal sophistication to the look.

Styled by her sister, fashion stylist Rhea Kapoor, Sonam kept the accessories minimal yet striking, pairing the gown with a diamond ring featuring a central blue stone surrounded by diamonds, and dangling diamond earrings.

Her hair and makeup, crafted by Namrata Soni, complemented the ensemble perfectly. Pin-straight hair, dewy skin, soft pink blush, and nude-pink lips added a natural glow, letting her pregnancy radiance shine through.
