‘Border 2’ Crosses ₹275 Crore Worldwide; Varun Dhawan Shuts Down Trolls with Film’s Success

Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan’s Border 2 has raked in ₹275 crore globally in just five days, and Varun is using the film’s triumph to respond to critics who targeted him even before release. The backlash began with the song Ghar Kab Aaoge, where social media users mocked Varun’s expressions and smile. Instead of reacting then, he focused on his craft, letting his work speak for itself.

Recently, Varun reshared director Shashank Khaitan’s glowing note on his performance:
“You might have a ‘tedhi smile’… but you have the cleanest heart and sincere eyes. All of that shines in Border 2. Such a solid and sincere performance. Love you, my brother… congrats on this blockbuster and many more to come.”

Varun also shared a fan-surrounded picture on Instagram Story, captioning it:
“Border 2 🇮🇳. Love will always triumph hate. Thank you 🙏.”

At the Braves Of The Soil tribute trailer launch, he stressed his focus on the film rather than online negativity:
“I believe you shut down the noise and let your work do the talking. Yeh sab cheezein chalti rehti hain. Main jis cheez ke liye kaam karta hoon, woh Friday ko sabko pata chalega.”

He added that his faith is in the film itself, not box-office numbers or online opinions:
“Mujhe film pe bharosa hai. Ek achi film banana bohot important hai. Numbers ya social media ka kuch lena dena nahi hai. But I believe humne ek achi film banayi hai. That’s what matters.”

Varun also highlighted the audience’s ultimate priority: entertainment.

“Log theatre mein jaate hain, sab bhool jaate hain. They just want to be entertained. Aur kuch nahi. Main school se aaya hoon jahaan aapka kaam bolta hai.”

Since release, Border 2 has earned largely positive reviews, with Varun’s composed performance drawing widespread praise.
