Suryakumar Yadav Trolls Pakistan Ahead of Women’s World Cup Clash: “11-0 Isn’t a Rivalry”

India men’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav didn’t mince words ahead of the Women’s World Cup clash between India and Pakistan on Sunday, October 5, in Dubai. Speaking to JioStar, Yadav downplayed the historic rivalry, emphasizing that one-sided dominance removes the competitive edge.

Mission 12-0

“Women’s cricket has evolved tremendously over the last few years. The Indian team is performing really well,” Yadav said. “But against Pakistan, if they stay focused, I’m confident mission 12-0 is possible.”

He highlighted the morale and preparation in the Indian camp, noting captain Harmanpreet Kaur and her squad are in top form after a convincing victory over Sri Lanka to kick off their World Cup campaign. “I spoke to the captain a few days ago. The camp at the Centre of Excellence has fostered a positive environment. When the mood is good, wins naturally follow,” he added.

On the “Rivalry” Narrative

Yadav was clear about the lopsided record:

“If you talk about rivalry, it’s when two teams play 12 games and the score is 6-6 or 7-5. But 11-0 is not a rivalry. Pakistan hasn’t beaten us in recent times, in men’s or women’s cricket.”

He further stressed that if the Indian women focus on their game, a 12-0 record is achievable.

Honest Take on India-Pakistan Clashes

Yadav has consistently spoken candidly about India-Pakistan contests. Ahead of the Super 4 match in Dubai, he dismissed the hype around the rivalry, saying:

“We’ve played better cricket than them, bowled better too. Statistically, this isn’t a rivalry anymore.”

Having beaten Pakistan three times in the previous month, his remarks underline the increasingly one-sided nature of this historic matchup. While the rivalry once sparked tense contests, both Men and Women in Blue now dominate the narrative—and SKY isn’t shy about saying it.
