Australia 108/1 (9.4 overs) beat Oman 104 all out (16.2 overs) by nine wickets in the Group B clash at Pallekele.

Eliminated from semifinal contention after earlier setbacks, the Australia national cricket team produced a dominant all-round display to wrap up their campaign on a high against the Oman national cricket team. Opting to field first, Australia struck immediately through Xavier Bartlett, who removed Aamir Kaleem with the opening delivery. Oman never quite recovered from the early blow, slipping to 47 for 3 inside the Powerplay. While Wasim Ali’s 32 offered brief resistance, partnerships were hard to come by.

Leg-spinner Adam Zampa led the charge with four wickets, finding sharp turn and pace variations to dismantle the middle order. Nathan Ellis and Glenn Maxwell provided able support as Oman were bowled out in 16.2 overs. The chase was emphatic. Captain Mitchell Marsh and opener Travis Head put on a 93-run opening stand that effectively sealed the contest. Marsh remained unbeaten on 64 off 33 balls, striking cleanly down the ground and through the off side, while Head smashed 32 off 19 deliveries in a boundary-filled cameo.

Australia crossed the target in just 9.4 overs, completing one of the quickest chases of the tournament and salvaging pride after a disappointing group-stage exit.
