‘Nikah Near Al-Falah’: Muzammil Says Shaheen Is His Wife, Not Girlfriend.
In a new twist in the Delhi car blast case, accused Muzammil Ahmad Ganaie told investigators that co-accused Dr. Shaheen Shahid is his wife, not his girlfriend. The couple was reportedly married in September 2023 at a mosque near Al-Falah University, with a mehr of ₹5,000–6,000. Authorities believe this could explain Shaheen’s alleged financial support to the terror module.
The NIA, probing the November 10 attack, made its seventh arrest—Soyab from Faridabad—for allegedly aiding bomber Umar Un Nabi. Shaheen is suspected of contributing ₹27–28 lakh toward weapons and explosives; she claims the funds were for zakat.
Investigators are also examining terror-linked networks in South Kashmir, active since 2016, which may have supplied weapons for the attack under instructions from Pakistan-based handlers.
