The Raja Saab Day 7 Box Office: Prabhas’ Film Crashes, Trails ₹110 Crore Behind Adipurush
Prabhas’ The Raja Saab is on track to become one of the biggest box office flops in recent years. The ambitious horror-comedy, despite a strong opening, is struggling to cross ₹200 crore worldwide in its first week.
Box Office Struggles
The film opened with ₹100 crore globally on Friday, hinting at a promising pre-Pongal/Sankranti weekend. But momentum quickly faded, with daily collections plummeting. On Thursday, it earned just ₹5.65 crore net in India, bringing the domestic total to ₹130.40 crore net (₹156.50 crore gross). Overseas, strong US openings helped push the one-week global total to ₹191 crore gross.
A Steep Road Ahead
Despite the initial hype, the film is unlikely to breach ₹200 crore by Friday. With a reported budget of ₹350 crore, The Raja Saab is still deep in the red. Comparisons with Prabhas’ earlier releases, Adipurush and Saaho, which earned over ₹300 crore in their first weeks, show the film lagging by more than ₹110 crore.
Directed by Maruthi, the film marked Prabhas’ return to family entertainers after over a decade of action-packed roles. The cast includes Sanjay Dutt, Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, Riddhi Kumar, Boman Irani, and Zarina Wahab. However, negative reviews from critics led to a sharp decline in box office collections, dashing early expectations.
