US forces carried out a strike in the Eastern Pacific on Friday targeting what the military described as a vessel linked to suspected drug trafficking operations, resulting in three fatalities.
According to US Southern Command, the action was conducted by Joint Task Force Southern Spear against a boat allegedly operated by organizations designated by Washington as terrorist groups. The command said the strike took place along a known narcotics trafficking corridor and described the operation as a “lethal kinetic strike.”
The military stated that three suspected traffickers were killed during the incident. The United States has intensified operations against alleged smuggling vessels in the region since early September, reporting significant casualties and the destruction of numerous boats as part of its counter-narcotics efforts.
