Mika Singh Demands Strict Action After Tiger Shroff Firing Incident, Questions Mumbai’s Safety
Singer Mika Singh has voiced concern over Mumbai’s security following the alleged firing incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff in Juhu on Sunday evening, October 18. Describing the incident as alarming, Mika appealed to the government to take decisive action and ensure the safety of the city’s residents.
According to reports, Tiger Shroff was allegedly targeted while leaving a football club in Juhu. His driver, Firdous, and an autorickshaw driver, Umesh Chavan, sustained injuries in the firing. The actor reportedly escaped gunshot wounds, but the incident has raised concerns about public security in Mumbai.
Reacting to the development, Mika shared a video expressing relief that Tiger had survived and praying for his health and safety. He also reflected on Mumbai’s longstanding reputation as a city where people could work late and travel freely without fear.
Mika Singh Says Mumbai’s Safety Reputation Is at Risk
Recalling his arrival in Mumbai in 2005, Mika said he had always taken pride in describing the city as one of the safest places in the world.
“When I came to Mumbai in 2005, I used to tell people all around the world one thing: if there is any city in the world that is the safest, it is Mumbai,” the singer said.
He explained that Mumbai’s vibrant culture, welcoming residents and relatively safe environment had allowed people to work until the early hours of the morning and move around without needing special security arrangements.
However, the recent shooting has left him questioning whether that sense of safety can still be taken for granted.
‘What Happened to Tiger Could Happen to Anyone’
Mika also highlighted the timing of the incident, noting that it occurred during the festive season, when people across Mumbai are participating in celebrations, including Garba and Dandiya events.
Expressing concern for ordinary citizens, he said the incident should serve as a reminder that no one should feel vulnerable while going about their daily lives.
He said the firing took place at a time when families and communities were coming together for festivities, making the reported violence particularly disturbing.
Mika stressed that the safety of Mumbai’s residents must not be overlooked and called for stronger measures to prevent similar incidents.
Singer Appeals to Authorities for Immediate Action
In his video message, Mika made an emotional appeal to the government, urging officials to treat the incident as a serious matter and take strict action against those responsible.
“With folded hands, I want to appeal to the government: please take this issue seriously and take strict action. What happened to Tiger today could happen to anyone tomorrow. Thank you. Jai Hind!” he said.
His remarks have drawn attention to wider concerns about law and order in the city following the reported attack.
Eknath Shinde Visits Tiger Shroff, Assures Family of Action
Meanwhile, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde met Tiger Shroff at his residence on Sunday after the firing incident in Juhu.
During the meeting, Shinde assured the actor and his family that those responsible would not be spared and that the matter would be dealt with seriously.
Photographs that surfaced after the incident showed the Baaghi actor with bandages on his right arm and dressings around his shoulder and chest.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Shinde said Tiger had suffered an injury to his right arm due to gunpowder and glass fragments.
The incident has sparked concern over security in Mumbai, with Mika Singh’s comments underscoring the need for effective action against violence and stronger assurances of safety for residents during the festive season.
