Security Forces Kill Bagu Khan, ‘Human GPS’ Behind 100+ Infiltration Attempts in J&K.
Security forces dealt a major blow to terrorist networks in Jammu and Kashmir by eliminating Bagu Khan, alias ‘Human GPS’, in the Gurez sector of Bandipora district. He was reportedly responsible for over 100 infiltration attempts, many of which were successful.
Also known as Samandar Chacha, Bagu Khan had been active in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) since 1995 and was a key link for militant infiltration into the Kashmir Valley. His detailed knowledge of secret routes and the region’s challenging terrain made him one of the most experienced facilitators of terrorist movements over the past three decades.
Bagu Khan was killed along with another terrorist during an attempted infiltration from the Nowshera Naar area on Saturday. Security agencies described his elimination as a major setback to the logistics and operational networks of terrorist organisations in the region.
Although a Hizbul commander, Bagu Khan had helped multiple terrorist groups infiltrate the Gurez sector and nearby areas, earning him a crucial role among militant networks. This operation comes days after two terrorists were killed in a separate infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in Gurez.
“Based on intelligence provided by Jammu and Kashmir Police about a likely infiltration, a joint operation was launched by the Indian Army and J&K Police in the Gurez sector. Suspicious activity was detected, and when challenged, the intruders opened fire,” the Srinagar-based Chinar Corps of the Indian Army said.
Meanwhile, a high-security alert was issued across Bihar following intelligence that three terrorists from Pakistan may have entered the state via Nepal.
