Toxic Box Office: Yash Film Rakes In Rs 140 Crore Worldwide on Day 1, Tops Jawan, Animal

Toxic Box Office Collection Day 1: Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups made a strong debut at the worldwide box office after releasing in theatres on Wednesday. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the gangster drama stars Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth in key roles.

Despite mixed reviews, the film recorded an estimated worldwide gross of Rs 140.75 crore on its opening day. According to Sacnilk, Toxic earned around Rs 101 crore net in India, with its India gross estimated at Rs 120.75 crore and overseas earnings at approximately Rs 20 crore.

The film witnessed particularly strong occupancy in its original Kannada version, where shows recorded around 89% occupancy. Hindi screenings also performed well, registering approximately 53% occupancy.

Toxic Scores Big Opening

With its first-day worldwide collection, Toxic has emerged as one of the biggest openers among recent Indian films. It reportedly surpassed the opening-day collections of major releases including Jawan, Animal, Pathaan and Dhurandhar.

The Hindi market played a significant role in the film’s opening, contributing around Rs 55 crore net, according to early estimates. The Kannada version recorded high occupancy but collected below Rs 25 crore, while the Telugu release also witnessed a strong response.

The opening figures put Toxic among Yash’s biggest box-office starts and provide the film with a strong foundation for its theatrical run.

What Is Toxic About?

Set in post-independence Goa, Toxic follows a gangster caught between his loyalty to his world of crime, questions of morality and his pursuit of redemption.

The film explores love, jealousy, violence and the consequences of seeking redemption in a dangerous environment. Its story combines a dark, atmospheric setting with action and characters dealing with conflicting loyalties and personal choices.
