Trump Demands Final Resolution, Not Temporary Truce, in Iran-Israel Crisis

Real End, Not Just a Ceasefire: Trump’s Endgame on Iran-Israel Conflict.

As tensions continue to rise between Iran and Israel, former U.S. President Donald Trump has weighed in with a bold stance — calling for a definitive end to hostilities, not another temporary truce. Speaking aboard Air Force One, Trump told reporters, “We’re looking at better than a ceasefire — a real end. Not a ceasefire. An end,” signaling a desire for a more permanent resolution rather than diplomatic patchwork. The comments come as global powers push for de-escalation amid fears of regional war.

Trump has been sharply critical of the Biden administration’s handling of the crisis. “Weak leadership invites chaos,” he said during a campaign stop, while reiterating a familiar red line: “Iran must never have a nuclear weapon.” Though speculation swirled over Trump’s early exit from the G7 summit, he denied it was related to ceasefire efforts. On Truth Social, he wrote: “Wrong! Macron has no idea why I’m returning to Washington. It certainly has nothing to do with a ceasefire. Much bigger than that.”

The former president has also hinted at possibly sending envoys such as Vice President JD Vance or Middle East adviser Steve Witkoff for talks with Iranian intermediaries. Trump’s team is reportedly pushing for a complete Iranian rollback of its nuclear program as a precondition for any resolution.

Meanwhile, the conflict on the ground is intensifying. Israeli airstrikes have reportedly killed Iran’s wartime chief of staff and destroyed missile storage sites. Iran, in turn, has launched new drone and missile attacks, targeting Israeli cities. At least 224 Iranians and 24 Israeli civilians have been killed so far, according to local media.

Iran has reached out to Gulf nations — including Qatar, Oman, and Saudi Arabia — to pressure the U.S. into restraining Israel. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said on X that Iran is open to diplomacy, but only if Israeli attacks stop: “Absent a total cessation of military aggression, our responses will continue.”

As global calls for de-escalation grow louder, Trump’s message is clear: A ceasefire won’t cut it. He wants a decisive end — and possibly, a regional reset.
