UK Sanctions British Businessman Gurpreet Singh Rehal, Babbar Akali Lehar Over Alleged Khalistan Terror Links.

The United Kingdom has imposed sanctions on British businessman Gurpreet Singh Rehal and the group Babbar Akali Lehar (BAL) for allegedly financing and promoting pro-Khalistan terror activities, including links to the proscribed Babbar Khalsa International (BKI).

Under the Domestic Counter-Terrorism Regime, Rehal faces an asset freeze for allegedly facilitating weapons purchases, running online propaganda networks, and providing financial services to designated terrorists, including Gurpatwant Singh Pannun. The sanctions also cover his businesses: Saving Punjab, Whitehawk Consultations Ltd, and Loha Designs, restricting his role as director.

The UK said BAL is linked to BKI’s terror activities by promoting and supporting the group. All funds and resources owned or controlled by Rehal and BAL in the UK are frozen, and no British entity can engage with them. Top intelligence sources said the move strengthens India’s efforts to dismantle UK-based terror financing networks, isolate key figures like Pannun and Paramjit Singh Pamma, and curb funding for anti-India separatist activity.

Following the sanctions, Rehal’s former firms, Panjab Warriors and Morecambe FC, confirmed he has been fully removed from all roles, emphasizing strengthened governance and compliance measures.
