US B-2 Bombers Fly 37 Hours Non-Stop to Strike Iran’s Nuclear Sites in Coordinated Attack.
In a major escalation of the Israel-Iran conflict, US B-2 Spirit stealth bombers flew a 37-hour non-stop mission from Missouri, refuelling mid-air multiple times, to strike Iran’s key nuclear facilities early Sunday. The assault targeted Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan—sites central to Iran’s nuclear programme.
The strike, described by former US President Donald Trump as a “very successful attack,” was conducted in close coordination with Israel. “Fordow is gone,” Trump said in a social media post, referring to the heavily fortified underground facility. He praised the mission as an “amazing success” and warned Iran to “make peace immediately or they’ll get hit again.”
According to Trump, six bunker-buster bombs were used against Fordow, while around 30 Tomahawk missiles targeted the other sites. The Pentagon confirmed B-2 bombers were involved, noting their capability to carry Massive Ordnance Penetrators, designed to destroy deep underground targets like Fordow.
Escalation After Weeks of Tension
The strikes came after days of rising tensions and Israeli air raids on Iran, triggered by claims that Tehran was weeks away from developing a nuclear weapon—a claim Iran denies. An Iranian official, quoted by Tasnim news agency, confirmed damage to part of the Fordow facility. This marks one of the most direct US military actions against Iran in recent years.
Just a day earlier, the US had repositioned B-2 bombers to Guam, hinting at a possible operation. The decision to engage militarily followed repeated Israeli requests for American support, particularly to penetrate defences beyond Israel’s conventional reach.
Casualties Mount as Regional Conflict Deepens
The conflict has already left a heavy toll. Over 400 people have reportedly died in Iran, with more than 3,500 injured in Israeli strikes. In Israel, at least 14 deaths and 1,200 injuries have been reported from Iranian retaliatory missile attacks—marking one of the most intense flare-ups between the two adversaries in years.
Netanyahu’s office confirmed full coordination with Washington, and Trump is expected to deliver a televised address from the Oval Office later in the day.
