The United States has declined to comment on whether Pakistan lost any F-16 fighter jets during Operation Sindoor.
When asked about the matter during a State Department briefing, spokesperson Matthew Miller avoided giving a direct answer, saying, “That is a question for the government of Pakistan.”
Miller reiterated that the US maintains its security partnerships with various countries but refrained from addressing any specifics about the alleged F-16 losses. Reports have surfaced in recent days claiming that several Pakistani aircraft were downed during the operation, but Islamabad has not issued any official confirmation or denial.
The F-16 fleet is a crucial component of Pakistan’s air power, supplied by the US under long-standing defence cooperation agreements. Any losses could significantly impact the country’s operational readiness.
