Mary Millben: US-India Relations on ‘Better Pathway,’ Calls for Policy Reset
American singer and longtime White House associate Mary Millben said US-India relations are now on a “better pathway,” expressing optimism about diplomatic efforts led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
“Honesty is the best diplomacy. Both President Trump and Prime Minister Modi know I tell the truth,” Millben wrote on X, adding that she welcomed Rubio’s efforts to reconcile differences and restore a healthy partnership between the two nations.
Millben, who has worked with five US administrations over the past 20 years, praised Modi’s diplomacy and measured responses during recent economic tensions with Washington. “His display of dignity under pressure has made him one of the most respected leaders in geopolitics,” she said, highlighting India’s strategic diversification with global partners.
She directly appealed to President Trump, urging a course correction: “Now is the time to pivot, apologize to the Prime Minister, restore our relationship with India, and reclaim our respected voice in geopolitics. A pivot is a posture of power and strength.”
