US Open 2025 Announces Record $90 Million Prize Money, Singles Champions to Earn $5 Million Each.

The US Open has set a new benchmark in tennis history by announcing a record $90 million prize purse for its 2025 edition—a 20% increase over last year’s $75 million fund. This marks the highest total payout ever in the sport.

Singles Prize Money Sees Major Jump
The men’s and women’s singles champions will each receive $5 million, up from $3.6 million in 2024—a 39% increase. Runners-up will earn $2.5 million, while semifinalists will take home $1.26 million. Even first-round exits will be worth $110,000.

Doubles, Mixed Doubles Payouts Soar

Doubles and mixed doubles events are also seeing unprecedented boosts:

  • Men’s and women’s doubles champions will receive $1 million per team.
  • Mixed doubles winners will earn $1 million per team—a massive leap from $200,000 in 2024.

Qualifying and Wheelchair Events Included
Prize money for qualifying rounds rises 10%, with total qualifying payouts hitting $8 million. The wheelchair competitions will also benefit from increased funding, reinforcing the tournament’s efforts toward broader inclusion and equity.

Player Advocacy Plays a Role
The prize hike follows strong lobbying from top stars like Aryna Sabalenka and Jannik Sinner, who have pushed for players to receive a greater share of tournament revenues.

Expanded Schedule and Stadium Overhaul
The 2025 edition will also feature a new 15-day schedule starting August 24. It comes as the USTA completes an $800 million renovation of Arthur Ashe Stadium, further emphasizing its investment in the sport’s future.
