In a significant development, the United States on Tuesday expelled Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and a conspirator in the assassination of Nationalist Congress Party leader Baba Siddique.
The US’ Department of Homeland Security in an email to Siddique’s son, Zeeshan Siddiqui, confirmed the deportation. “This email is to inform you ANMOL BISHNOI has been removed from the United States by the federal government. The offender was removed on November 18, 2025,” the email stated.
Last year, Anmol was taken into police custody in California.
Who Is Anmol Bishnoi?
Anmol is the younger brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who is accused of running a global criminal syndicate despite being in prison. Anmol gained notoriety after being placed on the National Investigation Agency (NIA)’s most-wanted list, with a Rs 10 lakh reward for information leading to his arrest.
In the murder of Baba Siddique, the Mumbai Police revealed that three suspected shooters involved in the assassination were in contact with Anmol.
Both Lawrence and Anmol Bishnoi, originally from Fazilka in Punjab, have been named as wanted suspects in the April 14, 2024’s shooting incident outside Salman Khan’s residence in Bandra. In a Facebook post following the attack, Anmol openly claimed responsibility for the firing incident.
In addition to his involvement in the cases of Siddique and Khan, Anmol’s name also surfaced in the 2022 murder of Punjabi singer and Congress politician Sidhu Moosewala. He is alleged to have provided weapons and logistical support to the men who killed Moosewala.
Eighteen cases have been filed against him, including one that claims he provided weapons and logistical support to the men who murdered Moosewala. Goldy Brar, another Bishnoi gang member, first took responsibility, then later claimed it had been carried out to avenge a rival politician’s murder.
