Dhanush–Kriti Sanon’s ‘Usey Kehna’ from Tere Ishk Mein Strikes an Emotional Chord with Fans.

The much-awaited second song from Tere Ishk Mein, titled “Usey Kehna”, has finally been released — and it’s leaving fans teary-eyed and spellbound. Following the success of the title track, this new number deepens the film’s emotional canvas, offering a glimpse into its raw, heart-wrenching love story.

Penned by Irshad Kamil and composed by A. R. Rahman, the soulful track features vocals by Nitesh Aher and Jonita Gandhi, blending haunting melody with poetic melancholy. The song showcases the evolving relationship between Dhanush and Kriti Sanon’s characters, capturing longing, heartbreak, and emotional transformation — especially highlighting Kriti’s portrayal of Mukti.

Fans React with Emotion
Soon after its release, social media lit up with reactions. One fan wrote, “Kriti’s acting is giving pure goosebumps! The pain in her eyes is unreal.” Another commented, “Heartbreaking and beautiful — Dhanush and Kriti’s chemistry is magical.” Many praised the song’s simplicity and emotional power, calling it “vintage Rahman” and “a track that stays with you.”

A. R. Rahman on the Inspiration Behind ‘Usey Kehna’
Sharing his thoughts, Rahman revealed that the melody was inspired by the serene beauty of the Himalayas and the reflection of mountains in the Ganges. “Everything around us inspired this melody,” he said. “It’s minimal — just piano, strings, and a new voice in Nitesh. We wanted the song to feel as pure as the moment that inspired it.”

Director Aanand L. Rai added,
“Music is the strongest form of magic, and I’ve had the privilege to see Rahman weave that magic up close. Usey Kehna is a piece of our hearts set to music.”

About Tere Ishk Mein
Produced by Gulshan Kumar, Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Aanand L. Rai, and Himanshu Sharma, the film is presented by T-Series and Colour Yellow Productions. Directed by Aanand L. Rai and written by Himanshu Sharma, this A. R. Rahman musical marks another collaboration between Dhanush and Rai after Raanjhanaa (2013).

Rai describes Tere Ishk Mein as “from the world of Raanjhanaa” — not a sequel, but an expansion that delves deeper into similar emotional themes with a new narrative.
