Karthi’s fans finally have clarity. After weeks of shifting dates and heavy speculation, the makers of Vaa Vaathiyaar have confirmed a new release date, signalling that the film’s promotions are now kicking into full swing.

The team announced that Vaa Vaathiyaar will arrive in theatres on December 12, revising the earlier December 5 plan that was postponed due to unexpected delays. The update was shared along with the poster for the film’s third single, instantly reigniting buzz around the project.

As part of the refreshed schedule, the third single “Mu Dha La Li” — along with its lyric video — will release on December 5. The new rollout strategy aims to maintain momentum as the film approaches its theatrical debut.

Promotional content so far has focused on Karthi’s role, briefly showcased in the teaser, where he appears as a stylish, high-voltage police officer making a heroic entry. Santhosh Narayanan’s background score underscores the film’s tone, hinting at a mix of attitude and action.

Music has already played a significant role in building anticipation. The first single, “Uyir Pathikaama,” sung by Vijaynarain, Aditya Ravindran, and Santhosh Narayanan with lyrics by Vivek, received a positive reception across platforms.

Vaa Vaathiyaar reunites composer Santhosh Narayanan and director Nalan Kumarasamy for their third collaboration after Soodhu Kavvum and Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum. The technical crew includes cinematographer George C Williams and editor Vetri Krishnan.

Produced by KE Gnanavel Raja under Studio Green Productions, the film continues to keep its plot under wraps. Early glimpses, however, suggest a strong mix of style, action, and character-driven storytelling.

Karthi was last seen in Meiyazhagan, directed by C Prem Kumar and co-starring Arvind Swamy and Sri Divya. The actor also has several projects lined up, including PS Mithran’s Sardar 2 and Marshal from Taanaakkaran director Tamizh.
