Varun Dhawan Grooves to Kriti Sanon’s ‘Raanjhan’, Calls It an Obsession — Actress Welcomes Him to the Club.
Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon’s fun-filled friendship just got a musical twist. The actor recently revealed he’s completely hooked on Kriti’s soulful track Raanjhan from her upcoming Netflix film Do Patti, also starring Kajol and Shaheer Sheikh.
Sharing an Instagram Story of himself vibing to the track, Varun wrote, “Why have I got obsessed with this track so late @kritisanon?” Kriti, quick with her wit, responded, “Hahaha, happy you joined the club!” The duo previously shared screen space in the horror-comedy Bhediya.
Meanwhile, Kriti is deep into the final schedule of her much-anticipated romantic drama Tere Ishk Mein opposite Dhanush. The film, helmed by Aanand L Rai, has been shot across Mumbai, Delhi, and Varanasi and is targeting a 2025 release. According to sources, the final schedule is proving to be both emotionally and physically intense for the actress. “It’s been a marathon for her. Audiences are going to see a side of Kriti they’ve never seen before,” a source told News18 Showsha.
Tere Ishk Mein reunites Rai with composer A.R. Rahman and lyricist Irshad Kamil. The filmmaker has hinted that the film echoes themes from his 2013 hit Raanjhanaa, saying, “It’s not a sequel, but it exists in the same emotional universe.”
As for Varun, he recently wrapped up the Scotland leg of his comic caper Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, co-starring Mrunal Thakur, Pooja Hegde, and Mouni Roy. Directed by his father David Dhawan, the film is set for an April 10, 2026 release.
Varun will next be seen in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, a Karan Johar production alongside Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, and Maniesh Paul. The rom-com hits theatres on September 12, 2025. Also in his lineup: the action-packed Border 2 and the long-awaited sequel No Entry 2.
