Delhi Police on Tuesday detained Indian Youth Congress national president Uday Bhanu Chib, with the Congress alleging that the move was carried out in the early hours of the morning.

Congress MP Sasikanth Senthil claimed that Chib was picked up from his residence around 4:30 am and has since been kept in custody for several hours. He is expected to be produced before a court later in the day, after 10 am.
While senior Congress leaders have confirmed the arrest and criticised the timing of the police action, the Delhi Police has not yet issued an official statement detailing the grounds for the detention.
