RCB Pacer Yash Dayal Booked for Rape in Jaipur; Faces POCSO Charges.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) pacer Yash Dayal is facing a fresh and serious allegation of rape, with an FIR registered against him at the Sanganer police station in Jaipur. The complainant has alleged that Dayal sexually assaulted her multiple times over a span of two years, starting when she was a minor, while emotionally manipulating her with promises of supporting her cricketing career.
According to the police complaint, the alleged victim, who was 17 at the time, first met Dayal during an IPL match in Jaipur. She claims Dayal invited her to a hotel in Sitapura under the pretext of offering career advice. There, the first instance of sexual assault allegedly occurred. The complaint states that the pattern of abuse continued for two years. Given that the incidents began while she was a minor, the case includes charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Earlier Case from Ghaziabad
This is not the first time Dayal has faced legal trouble. Earlier in 2024, a woman from Ghaziabad accused him of sexual harassment and exploitation during a five-year relationship, claiming he made false promises of marriage. She alleged that Dayal introduced her to his family and portrayed the relationship as a marriage, leading her to trust him. When she questioned his intentions, she alleged, he became aggressive and continued to mistreat her.
Following a preliminary inquiry into the complaint—filed via the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s grievance portal—an FIR was registered under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Indirapuram police station.
Dayal, in response, filed a counter-complaint through his lawyer in Prayagraj. He stated that the relationship was limited to social media and denied any sexual or exploitative involvement, claiming the woman was attempting to blackmail him.
The Allahabad High Court has granted a stay on Dayal’s arrest in the Ghaziabad case. A bench of Justices Siddhartha Varma and Anil Kumar asked the state government to submit a counter affidavit and issued notices to the complainant for her response.
As of now, Dayal has not publicly commented on the latest FIR registered in Jaipur. Investigations in both cases are ongoing.
