Bangladesh Announce 16-Member Squad for Asia Cup 2025; Sohan, Saif Return.

Bangladesh have announced their 16-member squad for the Asia Cup 2025, beginning September 9 in the UAE. Wicketkeeper-batter Nurul Hasan Sohan and opener Saif Hassan have earned recalls after consistent performances in the Top End T20 series in Darwin.

Sohan, who last played for Bangladesh in the 2022 T20 World Cup, scored 109 runs in five matches for Bangladesh A, while Saif, absent since the 2023 Asian Games, made 117 runs at a strike rate of 130.

Litton Das will continue as captain after recent T20I series wins over Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The squad also includes openers Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Parvez Hossain Emon, with Mahedi Hasan preferred over standby all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

The pace attack features Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, Mustafizur Rahman and Mohammad Saifuddin, while spinners Nasum Ahmed, Rishad Hossain and Mahedi Hasan bolster the bowling options. Towhid Hridoy, Jaker Ali Anik and Shamim Hossain strengthen the middle order.

Bangladesh open their campaign on September 11 against Hong Kong in Abu Dhabi. The Tigers have reached the Asia Cup final three times (2012, 2016, 2018) but are yet to win the title.
