Trump Directs Pentagon to Prepare Military Overhaul Amid China-Russia Alignment.
Following the joint appearance of Xi Jinping, Vladimir Putin, and Kim Jong Un at a Beijing military parade, US President Donald Trump has ordered the Pentagon to prepare for potential deterrence operations against China and Russia. The move signals plans for a major restructuring of the US armed forces.
US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth confirmed on Fox News that the President has tasked the Department of Defense with rebuilding the military and restoring deterrence, emphasizing that the measures are precautionary and not aimed at provoking conflict.
Trump has also accused China, Russia, and North Korea of conspiring against the United States, remarks that coincided with China’s 80th-anniversary Victory Day parade, a display of military strength in Beijing. The President highlighted America’s role in liberating China during World War II but did not elaborate on the alleged conspiracy.
The gathering of the three leaders marks a growing strategic alignment between China, Russia, and North Korea, prompting the US to plan a comprehensive overhaul of its military capabilities to address potential threats in the Indo-Pacific and beyond.
