Jaish Commander Confirms Masood Azhar’s Family Casualties in Indian Strikes, Admits Pak Army Support.

Months after India’s Operation Sindoor targeted terror hubs in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), a senior Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) commander has revealed that the family of group chief Masood Azhar suffered heavy losses in Bahawalpur.

In a viral video, JeM leader Masood Ilyas Kashmiri described how Indian forces stormed their hideout. “On May 7, Maulana Masood Azhar’s family was torn apart by Indian forces in Bahawalpur,” he said in Urdu, standing alongside armed fighters.

Kashmiri also boasted of Pakistan Army’s patronage of terror outfits, claiming generals attended the funerals of those killed in the Indian strikes. Reports indicate several top Pakistani military and civil officials were present at ceremonies for designated terrorists eliminated in the operation.

Operation Sindoor
The cross-border strikes came after a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam left 26 civilians dead. Indian forces carried out overnight raids on nine facilities linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba, hitting strongholds in Bahawalpur, Kotli and Muridke.

Bahawalpur, JeM’s base of operations, was among the hardest hit. Pakistani media later reported Masood Azhar himself admitted that 10 of his family members died in the strikes. Azhar, a UN-proscribed terrorist, has been sheltered in Pakistan for years. While Islamabad maintains it does not know his whereabouts, Indian intelligence insists he continues to operate under state protection.
