Priya Sachdev Kapur Seeks Confidentiality Before Disclosing Sunjay Kapur’s Assets.
Priya Sachdev Kapur, widow of late industrialist Sunjay Kapur, has moved the Delhi High Court requesting a non-disclosure agreement before revealing details of her late husband’s assets. The court is set to hear the plea on Thursday.
In a September 10 order, the High Court had directed Priya to provide a full list of all movable and immovable properties owned by Sunjay Kapur as of June 12, the day he passed away.
Family Feud Over Estate
The dispute centers on assets estimated at ₹30,000 crore. Sunjay Kapur, who died suddenly at 52, left behind children from his marriage to actress Karisma Kapoor, as well as his widow, Priya. Sunjay and Karisma, who married in 2003, had two children—Samaira and Kiaan—and divorced in 2016.
The children have challenged the will presented by Priya Kapur, alleging it is “forged and fabricated” and excludes them unfairly. They claim their father had promised to secure their financial future through his family trust. Priya, however, maintains the will is genuine, noting the children had already received ₹1,900 crore from the trust prior to filing the suit. Sunjay’s mother, Rani Kapur, has also joined the proceedings, alleging she was left with nothing and accusing Priya of selling off her late son’s assets.
Sudden Death and Legal Fallout
Sunjay Kapur collapsed while playing polo in England in June. Initial reports speculated a bee sting or allergic reaction, but the Surrey Coroner later confirmed he died of a sudden heart attack, citing left ventricular hypertrophy and ischemic heart disease.
His untimely death has triggered a heated legal battle over his ₹30,000-crore estate, drawing in his widow, children, and mother.
