Are Banks Closed Today? Yes. All banks across India are closed today, November 22, as it is the fourth Saturday of the month. As per the RBI’s holiday schedule, banks remain shut nationwide on all Sundays and on the second and fourth Saturdays.

This month has seen very few festival-related holidays. With major celebrations wrapping up in the first week of November, there are no state-specific festival holidays this weekend. Apart from the scheduled weekly offs, there are no additional bank holidays for the rest of the month.

  • Digital Banking Services to Remain Available
  • Even though physical branches are shut, all essential digital and ATM services remain functional:
  • Net banking and mobile banking will operate normally.
  • UPI payments and other online fund transfers will continue without interruption.
  • ATMs will remain open for cash withdrawals.

Customers can also place online requests for chequebooks, demand drafts, account updates, standing instructions, and credit/debit card services.

However, cheque clearing and other counter services governed by the Negotiable Instruments Act will not be processed today.

Bank timings vary across states and branches, but most public and private sector banks follow these approximate schedules:

SBI, Bank of India, Punjab National Bank: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Yes Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank: 9:30 am – 3:30/4:30 pm (branch-dependent)

Bank of Baroda: 9:45 am – 4:45 pm or 10:00 am – 5:00 pm

Canara Bank: 10:00 am – 3:30 pm
