NIA Arrests 7th Suspect in Delhi Red Fort Blast; Al-Falah Staffer Held
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested its seventh suspect in the November 10 Red Fort suicide car bombing in Delhi. Soyab, a resident of Dhauj, Faridabad, and employee of Al-Falah University, is accused of harbouring the main bomber Umar Un Nabi and providing logistical support ahead of the attack.
NIA investigators, along with earlier-arrested accused Dr Muzammil Shakeel Ganai, reconstructed the suspects’ movements and recovered tools believed to have been used for IED fabrication, including a grinder and portable furnace. Soyab is expected to be produced in court for custodial interrogation.
The Module So Far
Prior to Soyab, six others were arrested in the case:
- Amir Rashid Ali – Helped buy the car used in the bombing.
- Jasir Bilal Wani @ Danish – Provided technical support, including drone and rocket expertise.
- Dr Muzammil Shakeel Ganai – Central to planning and IED preparation.
- Dr Adeel Ahmed Rather – Linked to recruitment and operational logistics.
- Dr Shaheen Saeed – Involved in planning and ideological support.
- Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay – Provided ideological guidance and strategic support.
