‘Show Proof of Life’: Imran Khan’s Son Alleges Death-Cell Isolation

Kasim Khan Accuses Pakistan Govt of ‘Death-Cell Isolation’, Demands Proof of Life for Imran Khan.

Kasim Khan, the younger son of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, has issued a stark public appeal alleging that his father is being held in complete isolation without any family access. In a strongly worded post on X, he accused the Pakistani government of blocking all communication and said the family currently has “no proof of life,” warning that authorities would be held responsible for Imran’s safety.

Kasim, who has largely lived abroad and avoids frontline politics, said his father has now spent 845 days in custody and has allegedly been confined to a death-row cell for the past six weeks. “For the past six weeks, he has been kept in solitary confinement in a death cell with zero transparency,” he wrote.

Imran Khan, the former cricket star turned politician, has been jailed on multiple convictions that his Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party maintains are politically motivated. His sons, Kasim and Sulaiman, were raised in the UK with their mother, Jemima Goldsmith, and rarely comment publicly on Pakistani politics. According to Kasim, the Pakistan government has imposed an undeclared ban on family meetings for more than a month.

He said even basic visitation rights were being denied despite court orders. “His sisters have been denied every visit. There have been no phone calls, no meetings and no proof of life. Me and my brother have had no contact with our father,” he wrote.

Calling the “blackout” deliberate, Kasim accused the Pakistani state of hiding Imran’s condition. “This is not a security protocol. It is a deliberate attempt to hide his condition and prevent our family from knowing whether he is safe.”

He warned that the Pakistani government and its “handlers” would be held legally and morally responsible for any harm. Kasim urged international institutions and human rights groups to intervene, demanding proof of life, access to him, and an end to what he called “inhumane isolation.”

Even as the government insists Imran Khan is safe, PTI has demanded an official on-record response and immediate family visitation. The uncertainty, the party claims, has triggered a wave of rumours online — including false claims of Imran’s death — which the administration has dismissed as baseless.

Tension peaked outside Adiala Jail on Wednesday when Imran’s three sisters and PTI workers staged a sit-in demanding to meet him. Thousands of supporters later joined the protest amid accusations that police had assaulted the sisters and party members during an earlier demonstration.

The protest ended only after jail officials assured Aleema Khan that a meeting would be arranged. According to ARY News, the sisters are expected to be allowed access later today and again on Tuesday.

Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, known for housing death-row inmates and high-risk prisoners, has long had a fearsome reputation — something Imran’s supporters say deepens concerns about his safety.

Govt, Jail Officials Reject Death Rumours

The Adiala Jail administration has denied speculation that Imran Khan has been harmed or transferred, calling the reports entirely false. Officials told Geo News that Imran is “fully healthy” and receiving complete medical care.

“There is no truth to reports about his transfer,” jail officials said, adding that he remains inside the facility.

The Pakistani government also pushed back, with Defence Minister Khawaja Asif insisting the PTI founder is receiving better facilities than most inmates — even claiming Imran has access to amenities such as a television, exercise equipment, and a velvet mattress, along with meals “not available even in a five-star hotel.”
