Jaish-e-Mohammed’s Women Wing Recruits 5,000 Members, Trains Online for Radicalisation.
Over 5,000 women have reportedly joined Jaish-e-Mohammed’s newly launched women’s wing, Jamaat ul Mominaat, with security agencies flagging ongoing radicalisation efforts. Jaish chief Masood Azhar announced the rapid growth on social media, stating that district-level units will be formed with designated managers.
The recruitment drive, which began on October 8 at Jaish headquarters in Markaz Usman-o-Ali, targeted women from Bahawalpur, Multan, Sialkot, Karachi, Muzaffarabad, and Kotli. Recruits undergo 40-minute online training sessions at a fee of Rs 500, with the aim of creating terror brigades capable of fidayeen-style attacks, inspired by ISIS, Hamas, and LTTE.
Key figures in the wing include Azhar’s sister Sadia and Afira, the widow of Pulwama attack mastermind Umar Farooq. Jamaat ul Mominaat came under the spotlight after the Delhi car blast last month, linked to Dr Shaheen Saeed, who was arrested with explosives in Faridabad.
Women recruits undergo the Daura-e-Taskiya induction course, similar to male recruits’ Daura-e-Tarbiat, and are required to restrict communication with men outside immediate family or spouses.
