Reliance Industries denies Russian oil deliveries to Jamnagar refinery.
Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) on Tuesday dismissed a Bloomberg report claiming that three vessels carrying Russian crude were headed to its Jamnagar refinery. In a statement, the company said the report was “blatantly untrue” and clarified that no Russian oil has been received at the refinery in the past three weeks. RIL added that it is not expecting any Russian crude shipments in January.
Expressing displeasure over the publication, the company said, “We are deeply pained that despite our denial, a wrong report was published, tarnishing our image.” The Jamnagar refinery, the world’s largest refining complex, is a critical hub for India’s fuel supply and exports. Its crude sourcing often draws global attention, especially amid scrutiny of Russian oil trade.
