Anupam Kher has strongly defended Dhurandhar 2, calling it “outstanding” and hitting back at critics who labelled it propaganda.

Sharing his reaction on Instagram, Kher praised Ranveer Singh and director Aditya Dhar, describing the film as an emotional experience that “quietly enters your heart and refuses to leave.” “Sometimes, words fall short,” he wrote. “It is not just a film. It is an experience. Some stories are not meant to be described — they are meant to be felt. Dhurandhar 2 is one such story. Congratulations to the entire team for creating something so powerful, magical, moving, and deeply human. Every Indian will be proud of this film.”

Kher did not hold back in responding to claims of propaganda. “People calling it jingoism or propaganda should be ashamed of themselves. If you can’t tolerate it, make your own film — put money, hire writers,” he said, adding that the film celebrates modern India and the strength of its people and systems.

The veteran actor also singled out Ranveer Singh’s performance, praising his “body language, simmering anger, and visible pain” in key scenes. In response, Ranveer wrote, “Shabd toh mere kam pad gaye, Sir. Aapki kalakari se prerit ho kar bade hue hain. Koti koti pranam.” (Words fall short, sir. I grew up inspired by your artistry. My deepest respects.)

Kher also lauded the performances of Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, R Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal, calling the ensemble “powerful and deeply moving.”
