Mukesh Khanna has lashed out at Samay Raina amid the controversy around his show, calling the content being created online “harmful” and irresponsible, especially for younger audiences.

Speaking to Zoom, Khanna stressed that creators must be accountable for what they put out, particularly when it reaches millions.

‘Corrupting The Youth For Money’

Referring to the India’s Got Latent row involving Ranveer Allahbadia and Raina, Khanna said, “You are defending him and giving space to such remarks on your platform. You are not even ashamed. Everyone was laughing—I was shocked. Is this the future of our country?”

Defends Shaktimaan, Rejects Old Claims

Khanna also hit back at Raina’s remarks on Shaktimaan, saying the comedian had “no right” to criticise the iconic character.

“He doesn’t even know that no children died because of the show,” Khanna said, addressing past allegations. “Such claims were made earlier, but we clarified them and even won court cases. Incidents in places like Begusarai and Pune were wrongly linked to Shaktimaan.”

Highlighting the show’s legacy, he added, “Shaktimaan ran successfully for seven years. That proves its goodness and popularity. Children grew up with it—but if they grow up with this kind of content, the generation will go astray.”

What Samay Raina Said

In his stand-up special Still Alive, Raina took a dig at Shaktimaan while addressing backlash. He said:

“Shaktimaan aa gaya tha yaar… Tune bachhe maare hain… tu kya moral high ground lekar baitha hai?”
