The Vvaan: Sidharth Malhotra-Tamannaah Bhatia Film Cleared by CBFC With U/A 16+ Rating, No Cuts

Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia’s The Vvaan has received a U/A 16+ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), with the film reportedly cleared without any cuts or modifications.

The Deepak Kumar Mishra directorial is scheduled to release in cinemas on September 25, 2026. According to a Bollywood Hungama report, the CBFC cleared the film on Tuesday without asking the makers to make any changes. The certification comes amid reports of several recent films being asked to undergo edits before receiving clearance.

The Vvaan gets U/A 16+ certificate

An industry source quoted in the report said the film’s certification was expected, considering how the makers have reportedly handled its violence, romantic elements and dialogues.

The source said the filmmakers appear to have balanced these aspects while staying true to the story, which may have left little scope for the certification board to seek cuts or modifications.

The film features Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead roles. Anup Soni, Sunil Grover, Shweta Tiwari and Maniesh Paul are also part of the cast.

The Vvaan runtime

The film has a reported runtime of 136 minutes and 25 seconds, or 2 hours, 16 minutes and 25 seconds. The first half is approximately 1 hour and 4 minutes long, while the second half runs for around 1 hour and 12 minutes.

Directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, known for the popular series Panchayat, The Vvaan is set to make its theatrical debut later this week.

Why The Vvaan release date changed

The film was originally scheduled to release on August 28, 2026. It was expected to clash with Yash and Kiara Advani’s Toxic, but the makers subsequently postponed the release by nearly a month.

The Vvaan will now reach theatres on September 25. While there is no major new Bollywood film opening alongside it, the movie will compete for audiences with the re-release of Avengers: Endgame.

Ahead of its release, The Vvaan’s trailer has received a mixed response. Meanwhile, songs including Chhathi Maiya and Thummak Thummak have attracted attention and added to the buzz around the film.
