“Rather than hopping from one destination to another, travelers now prefer staying longer in one place that combines modern amenities with natural beauty. Villas and homestays give guests the chance to unwind, enjoy nature, and still have everything they need at their fingertips,” Khare says.

Recent data supports this shift: over 50% of Indian travelers now opt for longer holidays, and nearly 84% are willing to spend more for comfort and immersive experiences. Guests are increasingly seeking privacy while engaging with local culture, cuisine, and meaningful activities with family and friends.

“The focus is no longer on doing more but on living better: enrichment over exhaustion, quality over quantity,” says Khare. This approach not only elevates the traveler’s experience but also creates sustainable value for villa owners and homestay operators, positioning their properties as central to India’s evolving domestic tourism market.
