Hanuman Ansh has turned into one of the biggest surprise success stories at the box office. Reportedly made on a budget of just ₹2 crore, the film has now crossed ₹200 crore in India after initially struggling to attract audiences.

Producers Ragini Sona and Anupriya Nagar have addressed the issue while speaking about the film’s journey, the challenges faced during production and the decision to keep it in theatres despite a slow start. Actress Neha Paranjape, who portrays Parvati Devi, has also revealed why she agreed to make the film despite its relatively small budget.

Will Hanuman Ansh Team Get a Bonus?

Anupriya Nagar, one of the film’s producers, said the production was planned carefully around the resources available. According to her, the actors and technicians were brought on board through separate professional agreements, with their terms decided according to their respective roles and involvement.

However, she stopped short of confirming any immediate bonus following the film’s success.

Anupriya said the producers would first have to examine the final accounts and existing contracts before deciding whether additional compensation could be offered. She also emphasised that the contribution of the people behind the film deserved recognition, whether financially or otherwise.

Ragini Sona Promises Compensation From Her Share

Ragini Sona gave a more personal assurance, saying she intends to reward members of the team from her own share of the film’s earnings.

However, she clarified that she could not make the same commitment on behalf of the other producers. Ragini noted that the producers’ share would itself be divided among several people, but said she wanted to compensate those whose hard work she personally witnessed during the film’s production.

Cast and Crew Worked Under Tight Conditions

Ragini also recalled the demanding circumstances in which Hanuman Ansh was made. With resources limited, members of the cast and crew frequently worked long hours and sometimes skipped meals while shooting.

According to her, the team rarely complained about the conditions and remained focused on completing the project.

Film Struggled Before Its Box Office Turnaround

Hanuman Ansh did not immediately show signs of becoming a blockbuster. The film struggled during its first two weeks, leaving the producers worried that it could lose its theatrical screens before audiences discovered it.

Ragini said the bigger concern at the time was not recovering the investment but ensuring that the film remained available to viewers.

Since the production had been mounted on a controlled budget, the makers were less concerned about financial recovery than they were about losing the opportunity to reach audiences.

One More Week in Theatres Made the Difference

The turning point came when the team decided to keep the film in theatres for another week.

Ragini said she discussed the situation with director Vishal Chaturvedi and distributors before taking the decision. Despite requiring some additional investment, the team chose to continue the theatrical run.

That extra week eventually changed the film’s fortunes, as audience interest began to grow and the movie went on to deliver a remarkable box-office performance.

Neha Paranjape on Choosing Hanuman Ansh

For Neha Paranjape, the opportunity to work with Vishal Chaturvedi and make her Hindi theatrical debut was enough to accept the project.

The actress said she had already worked in Marathi cinema but had not previously appeared in a Hindi film on the big screen. Hanuman Ansh therefore offered her the chance to make her Bollywood debut while working with a director she wanted to collaborate with.

No Bonus Talk Yet, Says Neha

Neha also revealed that she has not heard about any plans for bonuses or incentives following the film’s success.

She said there had been no such discussion with her and that she was unaware of whether the cast would receive any additional payment.

For Anupriya, however, the film’s success goes beyond its reported ₹200 crore box-office figure. She believes the strongest measure of Hanuman Ansh’s impact is the response from audiences who connected with the story.

The film’s unexpected journey has also given its young producer greater confidence, while reinforcing her desire to be involved with meaningful stories in the future.
