Prashant Kishor Vows 10,000 Jobs for Bankipur Youth, Cites Big Industry Links

Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor has promised to facilitate private-sector employment for at least 10,000 youths from his Bankipur constituency over the next two years.

Kishor, who recently won the Bankipur by-election, said he would draw on his nationwide network and professional contacts to connect qualified young people with job opportunities.

Addressing a gathering in Bankipur, Kishor asked educated but unemployed youngsters to submit their CVs at his office.

He said, according to PTI, that his team would work to secure jobs for at least 10,000 youths within two years. Kishor added that his “big contacts” and people he had helped in the past could help create employment opportunities in different parts of the country.

Kishor said creating jobs in Bihar would be a priority if Jan Suraaj comes to power. Until then, he said, young people may have to look for opportunities both within the state and elsewhere in the country.

He also pledged to improve the quality of government-school education within a year. Kishor said that if government schools failed to become attractive to families, he would take responsibility for helping children get admission to private schools and covering their fees.

Kishor also condemned the police action against students protesting at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar over the alleged paper-leak controversy linked to NEET-UG 2026.

He said young people would not be intimidated by the use of force and warned that unresolved issues could deepen frustration among students and job seekers.

Kishor’s victory in Bankipur marked a major turnaround after Jan Suraaj drew a blank in the 2025 Bihar Assembly election. He defeated BJP’s Neeraj Sinha by nearly 20,000 votes, ending the party’s long-standing dominance in the urban constituency.

The result also gave Jan Suraaj its first elected representative in the Bihar Legislative Assembly.
